If the first IVF cycle does not result in pregnancy, the fertility specialist may review the cycle in detail, including ovarian response, egg maturity, fertilization, embryo development and embryo transfer. Depending on the findings, further investigations or adjustments to the treatment plan may be considered before another attempt. A failed IVF cycle does not by itself determine the outcome of future treatment, and the next steps should be individualized.
