Infertility generally refers to difficulty achieving pregnancy after a period of regular, unprotected intercourse. It can be related to female factors, male factors, a combination of both, or sometimes no clear cause is identified. Common causes include ovulation problems, PCOS, endometriosis, blocked fallopian tubes, reduced ovarian reserve, age-related fertility changes and sperm-related concerns such as low count or reduced motility.
